BiomX reports positive Part 1 results for BX004 phage cocktail in cystic fibrosis

BiomX announced positive results from Part 1 of its Phase 1b/2a study of the BX004 phage cocktail in nine cystic fibrosis patients (seven on BX004, two on placebo) with chronic Pseudomonas aeruginosa lung infection. There were no safety events related to BX004, and mean P. aeruginosa burden at Day 15 fell by 1.42 log10 CFU/g versus 0.28 log10 CFU/g with placebo, on top of standard inhaled antibiotics. Part 2, in 24 patients, was expected to report in the third quarter of 2023.
