Case report: systemic phage therapy for implant-associated MRSA vertebral osteomyelitis
An International Journal of Infectious Diseases case report from the Military University Hospital Prague describes a 60-year-old woman with chronic MRSA vertebral osteomyelitis and non-removable spinal instrumentation who received 35 intravenous doses of individualized antistaphylococcal phage therapy, approved by the national regulatory authority. It was well tolerated, and six months after finishing phage therapy and stopping all antibiotics she remained in good clinical condition without signs of relapse.
