Halomonas phage vB_HmeY_H4907 from the Mariana Trench is the deepest isolated siphovirus
Researchers led from the Ocean University of China characterised Halomonas phage vB_HmeY_H4907, isolated from surface sediment of the Mariana Trench at a depth of 8,900 m. The authors describe it as the deepest isolated siphovirus from the ocean and as representing a novel abundant viral family, Suviridae.
