iNtRON Bio reports toxin-neutralizing effect of its IMPA phage engineering technology in a colorectal cancer model

iNtRON Biotechnology announced on August 5, 2025 that its IMPA (Intelligent Modular Phage Assembly) phage engineering technology produced a phage carrying a colibactin-degrading protein on its capsid. The company says the engineered phage kills colibactin-producing pks+ E. coli and neutralizes the toxin in proof-of-concept studies relevant to colorectal cancer; it has filed a US patent application for the candidate, and preclinical studies, including combination testing with existing colorectal cancer therapies, are underway.
