SPReAD supports exploratory AI-for-science projects across disciplines, including life sciences, with up to ¥5 million in direct costs per project and AI adoption support. Researchers and students must be affiliated with eligible institutions in Japan. The second 2026 call closed July 3 at noon; selected projects run through February 19, 2027.
