MSc or PhD student on phage-based diagnostics for Johne’s disease — De Buck Laboratory, University of Calgary
The De Buck Laboratory (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Calgary) is recruiting an MSc or PhD student, starting September 2026 or earlier, to develop a rapid, PCR-free, on-farm phage-based diagnostic for Johne’s disease using mycobacteriophages and genetic engineering. It offers competitive graduate funding. Applicants (a BSc for the MSc, an MSc for the PhD, in microbiology, molecular biology, veterinary science, biotechnology or similar) send a cover letter, CV and two or three references, and applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
