NC State develops DendriPeps, a soft material that preserves bacteriophage medicines

NC State researchers (Stefano Menegatti, Christopher Gorman and students) developed DendriPeps, dendrimer-peptide coatings that surround nanoparticle templates, including therapeutic bacteriophages, and keep them stable against salt and pH changes. Localized shear releases the particles to treat local infections, and the coating re-forms when shear stops.
