NEB podcast: Paul Turner on the next 5 to 10 years of phage therapy

In New England Biolabs’ Lessons from Lab & Life podcast, Yale’s Paul Turner expects the next 5 to 10 years to bring more clinical trials of phage therapy against targets such as lung and urinary tract infections, and says engineering phages gives a better understanding of the biological drug than taking them from environmental samples. He also points to lower regulatory hurdles for animal and plant uses and to growing interest from researchers in low- and middle-income countries.
