Personalized phage-antibiotic therapy of a multidrug-resistant P. aeruginosa implant-associated infection in a Siamese cat (The Veterinary Quarterly)
Braunstein and colleagues report in The Veterinary Quarterly the personalized phage-antibiotic treatment of a cat with a multidrug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa implant-associated infection after arthrodesis surgery: a tailored anti-P. aeruginosa phage applied topically to the surgical wound plus intramuscular ceftazidime. After two treatment courses of 7 and 3 weeks the wound, which had been open for five months, fully closed; the authors say this is the first case of personalized phage therapy in felines.
