Phage-based digital biomolecular sensor (P-DBS) detects MCF-7 breast cancer cells

Singapore University of Technology and Design researchers combined M13-conjugated polyethylene glycol with tungsten disulfide nanosheets to build a Phage-based Digital Biomolecular Sensor (P-DBS) for MCF-7 cancer cells. The sensor reached a detection limit of 12 cells per μL with a 200 μs reading length, which the authors present as a route to early cancer diagnosis, staging and monitoring.
