Phage diversity mirrors bacterial strain diversity in the honey bee gut microbiota (Nature Communications)
Paired bacterial and viral metagenomes from the guts of 49 individual honeybees, with a phage-bacteria interaction network built from CRISPR spacer matches and genome homology, show that viral and bacterial diversity are correlated, particularly at bacterial strain level and when the interaction network is considered (Ndiaye, Bonilla-Rosso, Mazel and Engel, Nature Communications).
