Self-funded MPhil: bacteriophages for antimicrobial-resistant oral infections — University of Salford
The University of Salford (supervisor Prof. Chloe James) seeks a candidate for an MPhil project exploring a targeted bacteriophage-based mouthwash: isolating and characterising bacteriophages from pooled waste collected during routine dental procedures and identifying phages with killing activity against keystone dental pathogens, which could be developed into a cocktail for infections such as gingivitis, periodontitis and dental abscesses. The 24-month full-time place is self-funded (no external funding); the listing gives September as the month of entry and no application deadline.
