Silver nanoparticles templated by phage M13 show high antibacterial activity and slower resistance in vitro (Langmuir)

Silver nanoparticles templated by the Escherichia coli phage M13 showed unusually high potency against Gram-negative pathogens including E. coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Vibrio cholerae in vitro, and elicited resistance more than 10-fold more slowly than commercial silver nanoparticles. The authors attribute the activity to the nanoparticles' structure rather than to the phage.
