Alexander Perfilyev (University of Copenhagen) and colleagues published a new preprint on discovering lytic phages in bacterial genomes, showing over 100,000 complete lytic phage genomes in bacterial assemblies, challenging assumptions and revealing a vast untapped reservoir of potentially therapeutic phages.
