Mihály Koncz (HUN-REN Biological Research Centre, Szeged, Hungary) demonstrate the utility of pathogen genomic surveillance combined with high-throughput phage typing for enabling phage therapy. Their analysis reveals that a few strain types dominate infections in each world region, with geographical distributions remaining stable for six years.
