Fazal Mehmood Khan (Chinese Academy of Sciences) and colleagues published a research paper on a novel endolysin isolated from an Acinetobacter baumannii phage with high antibacterial activity against multiple gram-negative microbes. The novel endolysin, which was cloned, expressed, and characterized from the phage p54, shows low similarity to other well-known related endolysins.
