Carlos Martinez-Soto (Guelph Research and Development Centre, Canada) and colleagues have developed and thoroughly described a new multireceptor phage cocktail against Salmonella enterica to circumvent phage resistance. The cocktail targets four receptors: O-antigen, BtuB, OmpC, and rough Salmonella strains, is effective in vitro against 66 strains from 20 serovars, and works in vivo in chickens.
